Scope and Content Note
Microfilm includes records created by various departments of the Town of Red Hook. Election records (1813-1904) include election results, election inspector returns, statement of canvass, and election result reports from the town, city, village, or district clerk, or from the County Board of Elections.
Two volumes from the Commissioner of Highways (1849-1906), a predecessor to the Office of Superintendents of Highways, contain highway alterations (1867-1875); Justice Court docket of small claims cases (1849-1852); school district boundaries (1876-1878); and stray animal violations (1871-1884). Information pertaining to highway maintenance and town district oversight is also included.
Tax rolls (warrant copy) used by the school district as record of payment for school taxes are listed by district number (1932-1956).
