Scope and Content Note
This series consists of archival copies of the publicly accessible websites of the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance. Researchers should note that the office's Division of Child Support Enforcement maintains its own website.
B2186-07: This accretion consists of a copy of the main Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance site produced on December 23, 2006, shortly before Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. It contains information about the office's history, mission, and organizational structure, statutes and regulations governing the office's provision of services, welfare reform studies, press releases (2001-2006), and administrative hearing forms and other materials. Also present is information about and forms and guidelines relating to the office's major programs: disability determination, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, home heating assistance, services for homeless people, services for refugee, and temporary financial assistance to children and adults.
This accretion also includes a copy of another Web site maintained by the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance as of December 2006. The New York State Fatherhood Initiative site (copied December 20, 2006) contains a photo gallery of events (2006) encouraging fathers to remain actively involved in the lives of their children, press releases (2006), audio public service announcements (2006), a frequently asked questions section, and an events and training calendar (2006-2007).
Researchers should note that all of the content contained within this site is also present in the main Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance site.
B2186-08: This accretion contains a copy of the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance website produced on June 11, 2008, several months after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). Most of the information in this copy is also included in the December 23, 2006 copy of the site, but this copy also contains information about contracting opportunities, monthly caseload statistics (2001-2008), and newer press releases (2007-2008), a Home Energy Assistance Program state plan (2001-2008), and Homeless Housing Program annual reports (2006-2008).
This accretion also includes a May 13, 2008 copy of the office's New York State Fatherhood Initiative site (copied May 13, 2008) that contains additional press releases (2006-2008) and an updated list of events (2008). Researchers should note that the June 11, 2008 copy of the main Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance site contains all of the information contained within the Fatherhood Initiative site and that the Fatherhood Initiative site was removed from the live Web some time after it was copied in May 2008.
B2186-10: This accretion contains a copy of the main Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance website produced on December 20, 2010, shortly before Governor David A. Paterson (2008-2010) left office. Some of the information present in this copy is also included in previous copies, but this copy contains additional monthly statistics (2002-2010), press releases (2007-2010), Home Energy Assistance Program state plans (2001-2010), and updated publications and forms relating to the office's programs and services. Performance and accountability summaries detailing the funds allocated to specific providers and the uses to which those funds were put (2005-2010) and a copy of the final report of the New York State Interagency Task Force on Human Trafficking (2008) are also present.
This accretion also includes a December 27, 2010 copy of the office's My Benefits site, an online portal for people applying to and enrolled in the office's assistance programs. Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, most of the information contained within this site could not be captured successfully.
B2086-15: This accretion consists of a copy of the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance website produced on January 21, 2015, shortly after Governor Andrew Cuomo (2011-2021) completed his first term of office. Some of the information in this copy is also present in older copies, but this copy includes additional press releases (2011-2015), monthly caseload statistics (2001-2014), performance and accountability summaries (2005-2015), Home Energy Assistance Program state plans (2000-2015). Also present are newer press releases (2011-2015), information about contracting opportunities (2015) and the results of recent procurement bids (2013-2014), policy directives (1990-2015) for local government social services districts, press releases (2011-2015), updated publications about the office's programs, and a list of public meetings and meeting materials (2013-2015). In addition, this copy includes Home Energy Assistance Program households served reports (2000-2011), Bureau of Refugee and Immigrant Assistance quarterly meeting minutes (2012-2014), Homeless and Housing Assistance Program annual reports (2006-2010). Also present is information relating to the Homeless Housing and Assistance Corporation, a public benefit corporation staffed by Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance employees: board meeting minutes and materials (2013-2014), the annual budget report (2014-2015), audit reports (2013-2014), and other reports (2013-2014).
This accretion also includes copies of two other sites the office maintained as of early 2015: the My Benefits site (copied January 21, 2015), an online portal for program applicants and enrollees, and the office's Twitter feed (copied March 12, 2015), which contains news items and information about upcoming events. Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, most of the information contained within these sites could not be captured successfully. Researchers should also note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, repeated attempts to capture the Office's Facebook, Flickr and YouTube pages were unsuccessful in 2015.
B2086-20: This accretion contains a copy of the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance site that was produced on March 16, 2020, during the third term of office of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo (2011-2021). It contains information about the office and its programs, services, and initiatives; and additional policy directives (1990-2020), press releases (2011-2020), monthly caseload statistics (2001-2019), and performance and accountability summaries (2005-2020). Also present are state plans relating to the Temporary and Needy Families program (2018-2020), Home Energy Assistance Program (2011-2020), Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (2017-2020), and other programs. Materials relating to the Homeless Housing and Assistance Corporation include board meeting minutes and materials (2017-2019), budget and financial plans (2018-2020), annual reports (2017-2019), and performance reports (2017-2019).
This copy also includes a March 20, 2020 copy of the office's My Benefits site. Owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, only the site's home page could be captured properly.
B2086-21: This accretion consists of a copy of the main Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance site that was produced on August 13, 2021, shortly before the resignation of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo (2011-2021) took effect. It contains updated information about the office's programs and services; an annual report (2020); and newer policy directives (2010-2021), press releases (2011-2021), monthly caseload statistics (2001-2021), and performance and accountability summaries (2005-2021). Of note are overviews, policy directives, and other resources relating to food, energy, and other forms of assistance available to people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic; efforts to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus in facilities regulated by the office; and summary information about confirmed infections in people staying in publicly funded homeless shelters (2020-2021).
