Scope and Content Note
This series consists of various types of administrative operating records relating to work progress, personnel matters, travel, and purchasing activities.
The following types of records are included: monthly narrative and statistical reports by district supervisors of records surveyed and forms completed; periodic work status reports by the central office detailing the number of workers and progress in each county; lists of workers in each district; personnel reports giving names, addresses, hiring dates, wages, and assignments of workers; labor reports giving statistical breakdowns of workers' characteristics (e.g. male/female, relief/non-relief); district supervisors' weekly itinerary reports; employee depositions (time records); requisitions for workers; transfer forms for employee transferred between Historical Records Survey project numbers; log book of travel orders; travel orders; purchase orders; change in encumbrance forms correspondence concerning personnel, travel, and purchasing matters.
Custodial History
These files were deposited in 1942 in the State Library by the Historical Records Survey, and subsequently transferred to the State Archives as part of old collection #550A, accession number -372. Also included is folder 1 from box 5 of old collection #575 (Employee Depositions - Albany, November 1938-November 1939).
Access Restrictions
Researchers must agree in writing, before access is granted, not to divulge personally identifiable information from personnel-related forms found in files (e.g. "Personnel Questionnaire"); restricted until 55 years after end date of series.
