Scope and Content Note
These reports provide summary information on activities at state institutions supervised by the department.
Prior to 1935 this series contains minutes of meetings of the Committee on Administration of State Institutions of the State Board of Charities, and of the Committee on State Aid of the State Board of Social Welfare. The format of the post-1935 reports changes over the period from compiled reports to selected excerpts from the monthly reports of institution superintendents. These reports or minutes of meetings generally provide the following information about state institutions: programs, activities, and living conditions; physical facilities; staff personnel changes; legislation affecting institutions; and summary population statistics.
Also included are monthly reports of the Home Service Bureau of Boys Training Schools, 1960-1961. This bureau was responsible for placement of parolees in foster homes and schools. These reports provide summary statistical and narrative information on the services of this bureau.
These minutes and reports were bound at irregular intervals in prong fastener binders.
