Scope and Content Note
This series consists of archival copies of the publicly accessible websites of the New York State Alcoholic Beverage Control Division, which is commonly referred to as the State Liquor Authority.
B2048-06: This accretion consists of a copy of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division site that was produced on December 20, 2006, shortly before Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. It consists of notices (2004-2006) to retailers, wholesalers, and on premises licensees concerning direct interstate shipment of wine to New York State consumers, dry and partially dry towns, fee changes, and other topics. It also includes media advisories (2005-2006) concerning the suspension or revocation of licenses, changes in hours of sale, and other subjects, and information about State Liquor Authority members.
Researchers should note that, owing to the site's construction and the limitations of Web archiving technology, some of the information found on the live site was not captured successfully.
B2048-08: This accretion consists of a copy of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division site that was produced on April 25, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). It contains additional media advisories (2005-2008) concerning the suspension or revocation of licenses, changes in hours of sale, and other subjects. Also included are forms, frequently asked questions, and other information for licensees, information about the history and mission of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division, and State Liquor Authority board meeting agendas and other materials (2007-2008).
Researchers should note that the site was being redesigned at the time it was copied and that some pages are missing information as a result; moreover, owing to the site's construction and the limitations of Web archiving technology, the appearance of the archived site differs substantially from that of the live site.
B2048-11: This accretion consists of a copy of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division site produced on May 17, 2011, several months after Governor David A. Paterson (2008-2010) left office. It includes updated information for retailers, wholesalers, and on premises licensees concerning direct interstate shipment of wine to New York State consumers, dry and partially dry towns, fee changes, and other topics. It also contains additional media advisories (2005-2011) concerning the suspension or revocation of licenses, changes in hours of sale, and other subjects. Also included are forms, applications, frequently asked questions, and other information for licensees, content on the alcohol training and awareness program, annual reports (2003-2008), newsletters (2007-2008), and bulletins and orders of the division (1937-2010).
B2048-15: This accretion consists of a copy of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division site produced on January 30, 2015, shortly after Governor Andrew Cuomo (2011- ) completed his first term of office. It includes information about the division, its mission, and organizational structure, and updated information for retailers, wholesalers, and on premises licensees concerning direct interstate shipment of wine to New York State consumers, dry and partially dry towns, fee changes, and other topics. It also contains an events calendar that contains listings of meetings (2011-2015), many of which have associated agendas and other meeting documents, and media advisories (2005-2015) concerning the suspension or revocation of licenses, changes in hours of sale, and other subjects. Also included are forms, applications, frequently asked questions, and other information for licensees, content on the alcohol training and awareness program, annual reports (2003-2012), Project Sunlight Contacts (2013-2014) and procedures (2013), declaratory rulings and delegations of authority (2009-2014), important notices (2011-2013), and bulletins and orders of the division (1937-2014).
Researchers should note, owing to the site's structure and the limitations of Web archiving technology, the appearance of this archived site differs substantially from that of the live site.
This accretion also includes a January 22, 2015 copy of the division's Twitter feed, which contains information about news and events. Researchers should note that, owing to the limitations of Web archiving technology and the structure of the live page, most of the content associated with this feed could not be captured properly.
Researchers also should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, repeated attempts to capture the Liquor Authority Mapping Project (LAMP) site and the division's Facebook page in 2015 were unsuccessful.
B2045-20: This accretion consists of a copy of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division site produced on January 15, 2020. It contains information about the agency's history and mission and information, forms, and other materials of interest to retailers, wholesalers, local governments, and consumers regarding permits, licenses, fee changes, and other topics.
Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, most of this site could not be captured properly in early 2020. Specifically, only a small number of press releases, bulletins, divisional orders, delegations, declaratory rulings and a fraction of the events calendar can be accessed and neither the archived webcasts of board meetings nor the public license query feature were captured at all.
Researchers should also note that the authority's Liquor Authority Mapping Project (LAMP) site could not be captured in early 2020.
