- This series consists of records related to the creation of New York State's Historic Tree Register. Files pertaining to the register include applications, correspondence, press releases, acceptance and rejection letters, and descriptions of the trees. Also included are State Botanist records from the 1910s, correspondence regarding the planting of Moon Trees (trees grown from seeds taken into orbit around the Moon) in the 1970s, and surveys of large and historical trees in the state from the 1960s-1980s.
