Scope and Content Note
These are records and materials from the files of the Adirondack Correctional Treatment and Evaluation Center, including some records from the two facilities which preceded ACTEC: the Dannemora State Hospital and the Clinton Diagnostic and Treatment Center.
B0151-77: The files include records of hospital research; individual correspondence files; progress reports of various programs; materials on workshops and conferences; college programs; forms, instructions, and reports on grants; staff meetings and reports; good methods; job description; ACTEC Program Manual; information on equipment; criteria for transfer to ACTEC; grievance procedures; organizational charts; rules and regulations; inmates assignments to or from other facilities; inspection reports; admission requests and reports; monthly reports; daily work rosters; memoranda from the Department of Correctional Services in Albany; pending transfers and transfer orders and requests; punishment reports; job applications; audits; and a number of other records of the programs and administration of ACTEC and its predecessors.
B0151-00: This accretion consists largely of material related to the reorganization of Dannemora State Hospital and the creation of the Clinton Diagnostic and Treatment Center. Preliminary program manuals for several program units are present. These include Stress Assessment; Incentive Place; Community Preparation; College Preparatory; Prescription Correctional and Control; Educational, Physical Educational and Recreational; and Diagnostic and Treatment. Also included are reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence.

B0151-00: Records in this accretion appear to have been withdrawn or estrayed from the original accession. The 2000 accretion resulted from an ongoing project by Archives staff to accession or integrate estrayed or unidentified records.
Access Restrictions
Summary information on adult inmates is disclosable under law. State Archives staff will review records containing probation, parole, medical, and juvenile criminal history data and disclose information pursuant to the Freedom of Information Law and Personal Privacy Protection Law. The identity of victims of sex crimes is not disclosable. Unless a specific law forbids disclosure indefinitely, all records must be disclosed after 75 years.
