The first 2 volumes in this record series comprise official orders numbers 1-236 (March 22, 1927 to December 28, 1928) and numbers 237-486 (January 1929 to December 1930); the third volume covers orders numbers 661-1075 (February 1934 to December 1939). Volumes 1 and 2 have these numbers on the spine.
These official orders cover such topics as rescinding of contracts; awarding of contracts; approval of revised plans; settlement of damages; and amended regulations. A law of 1923 required the Superintendent of Public Works to keep a record of orders and decisions.
