Scope and Content Note
This slim volume contains a "description of a map and field notes" of a survey of lots owned by the state "in the vicinity of the Little Basin and Lock No. 1" in the city of Albany. The survey was conducted by Deputy Surveyor Alexander Campbell and submitted to the surveyor general in December 1843. Location of the survey map is unknown, as is the reason for which the survey was undertaken.
The records include: a statement signed by Campbell swearing to conduct the survey to the best of his ability, attested to by Surveyor General Nathaniel Jones (December 21, 1843); description of lots 1 through 12; and statement signed by the surveyor general attesting that the job was done by Campbell according to law (December 23, 1843).
A note on the cover sheet refers to a "General Sales Book," page 405 and a Small Sales Book," page 108. The location of these records is unknown.
