Summary
- The series consists of brief memorandums from physicians to prison authorities usually recommending appropriate medical care or end of need for medical care for incarcerated patients that the physicians have examined. Many memorandums recommend that an incarcerated individual be mustered out of the military squad because of a medical problem. Memorandums include date, addressee, consecutive number, last name of the incarcerated individual, and physicians name and title. The name of physician is often omitted.

Scope and Content Note
The series consists of one volume containing copies of approximately 3,000 short memorandums from physicians to prison authorities. The memoranda usually recommend appropriate medical care or end of need for medical care for incarcerated patients that the physicians have examined. Many of the memorandums recommend that a particular incarcerated individual be mustered out of the military squad because of some medical problem. Memorandums include date of memorandum, person to whom memorandum sent, consecutive number and last name of the incarcerated individual, recommendation of physician, and name and title of physician. The name of physician is often omitted.
