Scope and Content Note
This series documents visits and inspections by the Board of Trustees (after 1896 called Visitors) of the Middletown State Homeopathic Hospital (and as it was previously known, the State Homeopathic Asylum for the Insane at Middletown). The entries are relatively brief and contain signatures of the board members attesting to their monthly visit and notations briefly describing conditions at the hospital as well as visits with individual patients.
Custodial History
This series was transferred to the State Archives from Middletown Psychiatric Center in June 2000 and accessioned in March 2001.

Records identifying patients are restricted in accordance with Mental Hygiene Law, Section 33.13, relating to confidentiality of clinical records. Access is permitted under certain conditions upon approval by the Office of Mental Health.
