This series consists of archival copies of the publicly accessible Web sites of the New York State Office of Cyber Security, which prior to its June 2010 merger into the new Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services was known as the Office of Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Coordination.
B2128-07: This accretion consists of a copy of the main Office of Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Coordination site produced on December 29, 2006, shortly before Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. It contains background information about the office, newsletters (2006), cyber security advisories for state agencies (2003-2006), and state information security and geographic information systems coordination policies (1996-1997, 2005). It also contains information about the State Public/Private Sector Cyber Security Working Group, cyber security for personal computer users, and programs, agendas, and other materials relating to the office's annual Cyber Security (2005-2007) and Security Awareness (2005-2006) conferences.
B2128-08: This accretion contains a copy of the main Web site of the Office of Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Coordination produced on May 14, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). It includes background information about the office, newsletters (2006-2008), cyber security advisories for state agencies (2003-2008), information security and geographic information systems coordination policies (1996-1997, 2007). It also contains information about the State Public/Private Sector Cyber Security Working Group, cyber security threat levels, cyber security for personal computer users, and programs, agendas, and other materials relating to the office's annual Cyber Security (2005-2008) and Security Awareness (2005-2008) conferences.
This accretion also includes an August 22, 2008 copy of the office's State Geographic Information System Clearinghouse site. It contains an overview of the office's role in coordinating and promoting development, use, and sharing of geographic information system (GIS) data, newsletters (1997-2008), and information about paper and electronic maps available for purchase. It also includes background information, public meeting notes, and a discussion draft (2007) of the State Geographic Information System Strategic Plan, and background information, official policy (1997), sample data licensing agreement, and other information about the State GIS Data Sharing Cooperative. Researchers should note that, owing to the limitations of Web archiving technology, it is not possible to access the application or download any GIS data contained within this copy. Researchers should also note that, prior to mid-2008, efforts to copy this site were not successful.
B2128-08A: This accretion consists of a copy of the office's Geographic Information System Clearinghouse site that was produced on December 31, 2008, the day the office officially ceased selling paper map products. It contains an overview of the office's role in coordinating and promoting development, use, and sharing of geographic information system (GIS) data, newsletters (1997-2008), and information about paper and electronic maps available for purchase. It also includes background information, public meeting notes, and a discussion draft (2007) of the State Geographic Information System Strategic Plan, and a GIS data sharing policy (1997), sample data licensing agreement, and other information about the State GIS Data Sharing Cooperative. Researchers should note that, owing to the limitations of Web archiving technology, it is not possible to access the application or download any GIS data contained within this copy.
B2128-10: This accretion consists of a copy of the Office of Cyber Security Web site produced on December 20, 2010, shortly before Governor David A. Paterson (2008-2010) left office.
This accretion also includes a December 20, 2010 copy of the office's Broadband Mapping Project site and a December 21, 2010 copy of the the Geographic Information System Clearinghouse site.
