Administrative History
The Board was established in 1976. It regulates financing, bonding, property acquisition, and construction projects of major public authorities and also approves funding for most of them. The Division of the Budget serves as secretariat for the Board.

The series consists of regular and special meeting files of the Public Authorities Control Board (PACB). Some of the records were apparently prepared by staff for Board members as background materials on pending applications and related exhibits, draft resolutions, and summaries outlining financial implications of projects. The records document the Board's monitoring of projects undertaken by public authorities, as well as Board decision-making.
16148-92: This accretion covers PACB meetings and applications dating from 1977 to 1986. Nearly one-half of the records pertain to an application by the New York State Medical Care Facilities Finance Agency (MCFFA), which manages hospitals and health-related facilities.
