Summary
- This series consists primarily of illustrations used in various New York State Museum publications on geological and paleontological subjects. Items include plates from State Museum Memoir 14 "Eurypterida," photographs of the reconstruction of the Cohoes Mastodon, cross sections of geological data from Museum "Guide Book No. 1," wash drawings of the "Orthothecid Cephalopod" and other illustrations. Other items include a tribute to Professor James Hall on his 86th birthday, and a geologic map of New York.

Scope and Content Note
The series consists primarily of illustrations used in various New York State Museum publications on geological and paleontological subjects. Items include plates from State Museum Memoir 14 "Eurypterida," photographs of the reconstruction of the Cohoes Mastodont, cross sections of geological data from Museum "Guide Book No. 1," wash drawings of the "Orthothecid Cephalopod" printed in Bulleting No. 272, and other illustrations.
Multiple copies of some lithographs are present. Other items include a poetic tribute to professor James Hall (State Paleontologist and director of the State Museum) on his 86th birthday, and a geologic map of New York (1901).

Custodial History
The contents of this series were withdrawn by state paleontologists or other staff from several State Museum record groups. The records were collected by State Geological Survey staff from scattered sources among their holdings, and transferred to the State Archives ca. 1995. The accession is a product of the stack inventory project conducted by Archives staff in April 2000.
