Scope and Content Note
This series consists of digital copies of paper meeting minutes, agendas, and other board meeting materials (1975-2010). They document the board's review of the financial plans and quarterly plan adjustments developed by the City of New York. Meeting materials created when the city was operating under emergency financial control (1975-1986) also document the board's monitoring of city bond issues, city contracts, collective bargaining agreements covering the city's employees, and other matters relating to the city's fiscal condition.
Also included are regulations (1976-1990) issued by the board, bylaws governing the board's operations, a transcript of the 1975 legislative debate that led to the board's creation, and copies of state and federal statutes (1978-1979) relating to the stabilization of the finances of the City of New York. Reports (1979-1982) prepared by the New York City Productivity Council, a joint labor-management organization established in accordance with federal law, are also present; one member of the Financial Control Board attended council meetings as an observer.
