Scope and Content Note
This series consists of archival copies of the official website of Senator Dean G. Skelos. Researchers should note that in 2009, each Senator was allotted space on the main Senate website and the official sites of individual Senators were removed from the live Web.

It contains biographical information; photographs; a district map; and press releases (2000-2006) concerning legislation that Senator Skelos sponsored, state funding for programs and services in the 9th Senate District, and other matters of interest to Senator Skelos's constituents. Also included is information about the "NextGen" Task Force on Economic Development and the Emerging Industries; school aid and tax relief provisions in the 2006-07 Executive Budge; and the Nassau 2010 Advisory Commission, the Center for Innovation and Excellence in Homeland Security in Bethpage, the Nassau County Interim Finance Authority, and other Long Island-focused initiatives.
B2259-08: This accretion consists of a copy of Senator Skelos's official website produced on June 12, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). It contains biographical information, photographs, a district map, and press releases (2008) concerning Long Island housing legislation, a public hearing concerning possible abuses of the state pension system in Long Island school districts, and other matters of interest to Senator Skelos's constituents. Information about state aid to Long Island schools and Senate proposals to reduce property and other taxes and a "blog post" with eight citizen comments concerning Memorial Day are also included.
Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, most of the information contained within this site could not be captured properly in mid-2008. In addition, some of the navigational links do not work properly. However, identical sets of navigational links appear at the top and the bottom of each page. If the link in one set does not work correctly, click the Web browser's Back button and then click on the corresponding link in the other set.
