Administrative History
The series consists of legal files created when the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) is advised by an employer of an employee organization work stoppage. Counsel's Office conducts an investigation to determine if the stoppage constitutes a strike. If that determination is made, the files become part of the Strike Case Files (series 17502); if not, the files are closed. Public employee strikes are illegal under the state's Taylor Law, which also created PERB to resolve government labor-management disputes.
