Scope and Content Note
This series consists of records of bonds of the New York and Erie Railroad Company, which the comptroller assigned to certain people. An act for the construction of the New York and Erie Railroad (L. 1845, Ch. 325) stated that when an agent of the company makes a contract for the sale of company bonds, the comptroller shall assign those bonds to that person or persons. The records include a list of bonds assigned by the comptroller and correspondence relating to the assignment of bonds, and provide the following information: dates; assignee; and the dollar amount of bonds.
