Administrative History
The Executive Advisory Commission on the Administration of Justice, commonly known as the "Liman Commission," was appointed by Governor Carey in 1981. It investigated prison overcrowding, voir dire (jury selection) reform, sentencing, parole and probation laws and procedures, and criminal justice information management (electronic data processing and storage systems).
