Administrative History
The Temporary State Commission on Workers' Compensation was established by Chapter 924, Laws of 1990 to study the workers' compensation insurance rate-setting process, including the role of the Compensation Insurance Rating Board, in both its rate-making and regulatory aspects, and to suggest improvements to the system. The commission received support from the Workers' Compensation Board and the State Insurance Department. The commission was empowered to hold public hearings, to compel the production of evidence and testimony, and to recommend legislation consistent with its findings. The commission's final report to the governor and legislature was made December 1, 1992.
